46. Eucharistic Congress to be held, for the first time in Wrocław, Poland. It is the first Congress after the war and the second one in the history of the Church (after the 34. Congress in Budapest, Hungary in 1938), held in this part of Europę. The subject of the Congress "Eucharist and Freedom" is a quotation from St. Paul's letter to the Gallations "Jesus Christ brought us to freedom" (5,1).

The Congress coincides with the Pope’s visit to Poland. For Poles this visit is going to be of significance as indeed have his previous visits in: 1979, 1983, 1987, 1991 and 1995.
