The 25th Anniversary of the Solidarity Trade Union

Solidarity - victorious also these days 25 years ago, in August 1980, shipyard workers were fighting for dignity and for the right to freedom. The protest of workers against the communist system was the initiating event which created the broad social movement unified within the framework of the Independent Self-Governing Trade Union "NSZZ Solidarność" [solidarity] - the movement which had an impact on the reality and on the decay of the era of cold war confrontation.
