The 35th anniversary of the pacification of the Wujek Coal Mine (in polish)

W reakcji na wprowadzenie przez władze PRL w nocy z 12 na 13 grudnia 1981 r. stanu wojennego w Polsce zastrajkowało ponad 100 zakładów pracy. Wśród nich znalazły się również górnośląskie kopalnie, w tym KWK „Wujek”. Głównym powodem protestu było brutalne zatrzymanie (internowanie) podczas wprowadzania stanu wojennego Jana Ludwiczaka, przewodniczącego NSZZ „Solidarność” w Wujku. Górnicy podjęli decyzję, że nie podejmą pracy dopóki nie wróci on do kopalni. Zgłosili też inne postulaty, m.in. domagali się zniesienia stanu wojennego. Protestowi nie zapobiegła informacja, że „Wujek” został zmilitaryzowany. Nie zakończyły go też negocjacje z władzami.
